my dad's father is go-getter. he knows no strangers, and absolutely hates being stuck in the house. (probably mainly because my darling grandma can be a bit of a nag). he can be found doing a number of things: fishing, hunting, golfing, playing dominoes at the fire station, maintaining the public peace, and chatting with his good friend, the owner of a funeral home (i know, i know).
when he is sick, it is obvious. for starters, it's rare. it also takes a lot to get him down.
now i'm sure i'm plagued by a few more health issues than him, but i'm not a complainer, and often just pretend it's not issue until it drives me a crazy. i am a believer in staying home and taking a day when you need it.
but 3 or 4 or 5? this is insane!
this flu is driving me nutzo. the first day or two in my bed, with burning eyes and a raging headache and aches and chills made perfect sense. but my fever just keeps coming back. and so does the headache. and i get tired after doing meaningless small tasks. i cannot remember the last time i haven't been out of my house in an entire day, much less 2 or 3.
at least i have my appetite.
but it gets so lonely. i've run out of new movies and watched my netflix arrival already. we don't have cable, and the soap operas are done for the day. my eyes are too tired to read, i've exhausted my frequent website visits, i don't feel like talking on the phone. i strike up a convo with God here and there about quite random things. but i keep thinking about how we need garbage bags and how i really wanted to make granola but don't have maple syrup or almonds and cranberries.
ughh.
chronic fatigue syndrome must suck.
and people trying to get disability that don't need it or lazy lazy chumps.
i was not made for home.
my first advent calendar!

Oh, get better! I have been sick for a week and a half, but not a keep-you-home-sick. It just keeps sticking around! Time for healing for everybody!
