not necessarily idyllic, but it'll do.

i disembarked in nassau, bahamas exactly 2 hrs ago. currently, i'm sitting at my aunt petra's house in front of the computer, awaiting my mum's return with jerk chicken for dinner.

however, there is much going on. in preparation for family coming in and a wake and a funeral, we are helping clean and organize my grandma's house.

so much for relaxing christmas break. baking cookies. seeing old friends. driving my car around home. sitting in my kitchen at the table chatting with mom or grandma.

no. i'm in an island paradise with perfect weather. with no phone reception. intermittent internet access. and a neverending supply of distant relatives who will ask me the same questions, comment on how small/young i am/look, and ask me if i'm dating anyone. or if my parents are proud that i'm going to be a doctor.

exhausting.

but
such is life.

pray for me.

*disclaimer: it could be worse i know. and i'm not totally complaining( just sort of complaining)...but, i really wanted low key this year. too much to ask?
