i'm on call tonight.
thank God it is with the consult service, so no more overnight call por moi. at least for now.
so i am in theory supposed to stay until 10 pm...although apparently medical students aren't supposed to have more than 2 or so patients to follow at one time.
guess who has three? this lady.
but it's only 6:25pm. so...yeah.
meanwhile i am missing some mixer for the visiting clerkship program across the street.
tomorrow i am walking into the lion's den and meeting with the residency director at one of the other hospitals...hopefully. (if i can get him)
AND i have botox clinic tomorrow. not the type of botox clinic for aging. botox injections for people with severe muscle contractures and dystonia. so it should be super interesting.
this is my last entire weekend in boston. a week from saturday i'll be headed home. which is nice, but i have definitely enjoyed my time here. probably b/c i wasn't alone and the program was one that i am actually super interested in. AND the resident i work with gave me some opinions about the hospital where he did his intern year. (i'll leave it nameless, but it was a prestigious school with less-than prestigious treatment of preliminary medicine interns....so i'll keep it in mind on my interview trail).
i think that might be all tonight except for a few cheesy things-
remember that visual acuity is the vital sign of the eye.
and with that awful medical humor i bid you farewell.
oooh oooh and courtesy of Todd (future plastic surgeon) i have a joke about the economy:
what is the difference between an investment banker and a pigeon?
a pigeon can still make a deposit on a brand new ferrari.
my first advent calendar!
