i was told that once.
today was the first PIEDAY FRIDAY. shelby with the help of tim, and i baked pies 3 types between the two of us and shelby tried out her bar-tending skills. the menu was:
Shelby: cinnamon apple empanadas
tequila sunrises
mint mojitos
Me: cheesy meat pie (ground beef, onions, garlic, sharp cheddar cheese)
chocolate chess pie (a little homage to Southern desserts)
i made my first pie crust tonight. which turned out well. and my pies were great! allie took a few pictures. shelby's endeavours were successful as well. she recruited lisa and jared to help peel apples. and lisa's consoloation prize was an apple filled with cinnamon, butter, and rum. yum yum. tasted like winter.
we played 90s music courtesy of Pandora, and allie, nate, and cameron watched the debates in the living room.
i bought an apron earlier this week, which was my inspiration for tonight. we will do it again when i get back.
it's something to have so much to give, and no one to lavish it on. i am in a doting mood currently. matthew was eating the chess pie, and saying with his mouth full, "keep this up! i'll be your guinea pig!"
i would like it to be october 24th, and i would be preparing to return home, this time for good.
living out of a suitcase without Mortimer at least, is highly overrated.

this was a really great night. the whole kitchen is all clean and neat, too, as if nobody had ever been here.
