a post a friend made

He tagged me in it, so i thought i'd post it here:

During a recent camping trip I had an epiphany… The labyrinth that is relationships can be explained through the wonderful concoction we lovingly refer to as the PB&J Sandwich. There are many ways to go about building the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and each of them correspond to the ways we set out building our relationships with a potential mate…

1. The simple PB&J The most basic form of the PB&J consists of simply spreading Peanut butter on one piece of bread, Jelly on another, and mating the two together. The result is an enjoyable sandwich, however it cannot last. The Jelly immediately begins to soak into the bread resulting in a soggy sandwich by lunch time.

2. PB vs. J Balance between the salty structure of the Peanut butter and the insouciant sweetness of the Jelly is key in terms of structure as well as overall enjoyment. To much of the seriousness of the Peanut butter and the sandwich sticks to the roof of your mouth becoming an immediate annoyance. To much of the sweet stuff that is Jelly and your result is a soggy mess, falling apart before it can even become a sandwich.

3. The perfect PB&J To make a PB&J that will last a few things are key. First, each slice of bread has to be covered with Peanut butter. NOT TO MUCH! One side may have a little more Peanut butter than the other but it’s important that the total amount of Peanut butter is comparable to that of a normal sandwich. The jelly goes right in the middle. Covering both pieces of bread with Peanut butter provides structure for the Jelly, the sweetness, the passion that is so important in our relationships so that should ever the jelly start to slip, we have the structure of the steadfast Peanut butter on both sides to reinforce it. The result is a sandwich that WILL last, the perfect PB&J.
