i feel that if i had a theme song it might be Keane's Everybody's Changing.

i started my surgery clerkship today. a little daunting. a lot exciting.

lots of information thrown at all of us. all these new rules, and protocols, and etc.

early mornings. late nights. lots of reading. lots of quick thinking. responsibility. independent learning.

but fun. yet fun. still fun.

i AM a glutton for punishment. i am OBVIOUSLY masochistic. you have no idea how badly though i would like to run away. :-)

but God is so merciful. i'm starting with the easiest part of the rotation. ER and then Orthopedic surgery (2 wks each). i learned how to scrub in today. i think that will be my favorite part of it all. hah!

then i have 2 months straight of the floor. which is presenting and rounding and scrubbing in and assisting and managing and assessing.

but it will be what? that's right. FUN.

I presume that my social life is going to be put on the back burner for a bit.

but it's probably best. there are some weird things afoot....and it probably is in my best interest to have to sit out of the madness. i figure whomever loves me will find me on their own.

and i'll of course return the favor when the time comes.
