so my mum called me monday evening to remind me to "that it is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in men."
she always was good at a word spoken in season.
being a work in progress, i'm learning lessons on forgiveness, longsuffering, patience, and unconditional love. at the same time the rational side of me fights with where these fruits of the spirits end, and saving my sanity and dignity begins.
i'm afraid that there is probably no room for my salvaging of either of the latter things on my own terms however.
i don't know what i'm feeling right now specifically. it would most likely be a combination of resentment, hurt, frustration, and increasing cynicism.
i am tired of being passive aggressive, but i don't know how to necessarily change that.
i am fed up with fickleness and competition and putting up with immaturity.
but i think to successfully escape these things i'd have to live in a vaccuum.
i wish that people knew what real friendship looks like, instead of taking it for granted or squandering it for something that has not yet earned dependability. (a word? i sure hope so).
women are some of the most ridiculous creatures God has made. but then again, so are men.
i am at the same time grateful that God has not left me to myself, and has placed incredible people in my life in a time when I need them the most.
i know that this is another opportunity for character development.
which means that i should stop griping.
my first advent calendar!
