so for all of you pop culture gurus, i'm sure you've heard by now that Rihanna and Chris Brown had a spat that resulted in neither of the pretty youngsters appearing at the Grammys AND left Rihanna with a busted lip, bloody nose, and bruises...not to mention Chris Brown $5000 poorer (thank you bail).
now I don't think it's okay to retaliate with punches or kicks or slaps, or whatever sort of violent contact you can conjure up in your mind.
BUT i find it interesting that everyone keeps saying, "it doesn't matter what a woman does or says, a man should NEVER hit her."
if this was a fight between to people of the same gender, no one would have much to say. maybe unless they were romantically involved.
if they were cheating on each other, i'm pretty sure that there wouldn't be the same public uproar.
i personally don't think it's fair. we have no idea how their relationship was. we don't know what she might have said or done to push his buttons, and while that is still not acceptable, anyone can lose control if given the right circumstances.
especially the easygoing, calm, longsuffering sort.
what if she's an absolutely mean and vindictive type of person?
i wish people would be just as upset about people betraying trust and living lies.
so now Chris Brown loses contracts with advertisements for his dating life going awry.
funny.
if he had gotten her pregnant and given her an std and dumped her, he'd still have a job.
