it's been a long time, i shouldn't have left you

greetings!

so i've failed to blog...mainly because so many things have been going on and i've been utterly lazy.

not because i have been affected by other people's views of my blogging. (ahem)

i do what i want.

at any rate, i write to you from the on call room of the 7th floor of vandy children's hospital.

i'm on call. stuck here until only The Lord knows when tomorrow.

i'm sad mainly because it's sunday....and i'm not at church. right now.

that's where i want to be.

but we receive daily Lenten readings in the email. so i was struck by the reading for this morning.

John 12:44-50. to paraphrase a verse, Christ says that if you hear His words and do not obey that he will not judge you because He did not come to the world to judge it. Rather at judgement, His Word will judge the one who rejects it.

i found that interesting. talk about a concept of Universal Truth if there is one.

so life. i'm on Pediatrics. its interesting. i couldn't do it as a profession, but i'm learning a lot and enjoying.
i'm also reminded that all medical centers have their weak points.

even those who tout themselves to be better than average. i think it is a humbling reminder that we are all human and fallible. doesn't matter if your medical school is ranked higher or you get more research money.....your staff still writes orders wrong sometimes, and communication lapses occur between members of medical teams.

so in my previous post i discussed moving past some fear and being true to myself.

i believe that is working rather well these days.

a certain left-handed professorial type is making my life even more great than it already was. and for that i am quite thankful.

so i bid you adieu. but only for a brief moment.

ALLIE, i'll try to be better. :-)
